 Abstract

The invention relates to a method for oxidizing methane, comprising passing a gaseous, methane containing mixture over a catalyst, comprising a carrier with a substrate surface which consists substantially of titanium dioxide with a combination of platinum and palladium thereon, in the presence of molecular oxygen, and to a catalyst suitable thereto.
