(TU Delft Mathematical Geodesy and Positioning) Date 2017 Abstract Deformation estimates from Interferometric SyntheticAperture Radar (InSAR) are relative: they form a ‘free’network referred to an arbitrary datum, e.g. by assuming a referencepoint in the image to be stable. However, some applicationsrequire ‘absolute’ InSAR estimates, i.e. expressed ina well-defined terrestrial reference frame, e.g. to compareInSAR results with those of other techniques. We propose amethodology based on collocated InSAR and Global NavigationSatellite System (GNSS) measurements, achieved byrigidly attaching phase-stable millimetre-precision compactactive radar transponders to GNSS antennas. We demonstratethis concept through a simulated example and practical casestudies in the Netherlands Subject InSARTransponderRadarDeformationGNSSGPSDatum connectionTerrestrial Reference Frame To reference this document use: http://resolver.tudelft.nl/uuid:158f5354-c504-40d1-9b07-7aaa540c9fd8 DOI https://doi.org/10.1007/s00190-017-1041-y ISSN 0949-7714 Source Journal of Geodesy Part of collection Institutional Repository Document type journal article Rights © 2017 P.S.
