Aviation industry is doing a big effort for improving and updating services, products and operations and great interest is put towards the whole passenger journey experience. Airports and airlines tend to differentiate and to offer products that are more customized at the “experience level” because at the technology level the market is a perfect competition. IDE faculty has expertise with regards to some of the challenges the aviation industry is dealing with, such as service design, experience design and supply based design and is exploring and expanding its activities in the field of aviation industry also thanks to the work of academic figures that are very experienced in this field. For this reason, the applied lab that investigates on the aviation operation -called In-flight Experience Centre- is associated to the IDE faculty and not to other more technical faculties like Aerospace Engineering. Nevertheless, the potential of the inflight experience center has not been fully explored yet, therefore also its function could be improved. Collaborating with companies and integrators of services in the aviation industry and working with the applied lab could also be very valuable for students’ education. Considering the context and the assignment requirements, the objective of this project is to design a solution that will facilitate research at the faculty and collaborations between it and companies working in the aviation industry.
