Contributor Pang, Y. (mentor) Faculty Mechanical, Maritime and Materials Engineering Department Marine and Transport Technology Research group Transport Engineering and Logistics Date 2019-04-02 Abstract A belt conveyor system is a commonly used mean of transportation for dry bulk material. The system components are subjected to wear because of the multiple rotating components. This will result in component failures on the long run. Maintenance or replacement actions are required for these components in order to prevent these system failures. In most cases, maintenance or replacement actions will lead to system downtime. The ambition will be a minimization of the machine downtime in order to keep the production output as high as possible. A monitoring system should be implemented in the belt conveyor system to give more information about the reliability of the components.
