Contributor Koz, A. (mentor) Lagendijk, R.L. (mentor) Faculty Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science Department Media & Knowledge Engineering Date 2009-07-13 Abstract In this thesis, a novel video fingerprinting method is proposed, in which the motion vectors extracted from the compressed stream are used to model the video fingerprint. Consequently, the generated fingerprint is then used to identify an unknown video, since a fingerprint should uniquely characterize a video. The identification process can be performed by extracting the unknown fingerprint and compare it with the original fingerprint stored inside a database. If a match is found, then the relevant information can be obtained.
