Faculty Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science Department Microelectronics Date 2015-06-10 Abstract This paper presents mathematical models that are necessary to describe the relationship between Doppler spectrum width of the signal reflected from precipitation and eddy dissipation rate of turbulence kinetic energy. The feature of the models is taking into account the contribution of drop fall velocity variance, which is analyzed in detail, and the inertia of drops. The calculations are done for different turbulence intensity and drop size distribution. The model is suitable for substantiation of allowable errors at EDR estimation and radar signal processing to retrieve information about turbulence intensity.
