It has a series of digital words, each K bits long at a predetermined repetition frequency converted into a PCM output signal (16) comprising a series of digital words each L bits long, where L is less than K. The system includes a one-bit coder to provide a shaped noise profile and converte the K-L least significant bits into one bit words, for combining via an accumulator with the output. - Attenuator is set to a level of 0.5 or less. Two accumulators are combined into a single adder. Shift registers are used for pixels.
