Collective Re-Use: A reinterpretation of the Portiek dwelling

The portiek dwelling type is a very prevalent dwelling type in the Netherlands but most of the housing is considered 'vulnurable' because they are mostly small apartments in reconstruction neighborhoods. This project examines the portiek dwelling as a unit, rather than on the level of the individual apartment or block, and shows its potential as a receptacle for collective housing of disadvantaged target groups.
