The ventilated grating configuration improves operability of the installation through the splash zone. By penetrating into the soil, the foundation provides sufficient bearing capacity due to the additional generated skin friction. Furthermore, the seabed landing is assessed and the deformation of the grating under different load cases is determined. Finally, a joining technique to attach the gratings to the steel structure is suggested.
