Contributor Kaldenbach, K. Verbree, E. Hoeben, A. Date 2001 Abstract In order to gain a comprehensive view of the consequences of large infrastructure operations, good imaging techniques are essential to present projects in a clear manner. At the Delft Department of Geodetic Engineering, Virtual Reality techniques have been linked for the first time to geographical information systems (GIS). Not only can this result in nice visuals of future landscapes, it has also brought to life the historic Delft of the days of Vermeer. At the department of Industrial Design Engineering a series of computer animations was created in the project Walking with Vermeer, that lets the viewer stroll through the streets of seventeenth century Delft.
