(mentor) Faculty Civil Engineering and Geosciences Department Hydraulic Engineering Date 1993-12-01 Abstract In this report a model has been derived to simulate morphological behaviour under tidal conditions. The model is based on the set of equations of motion and mass-balance for both water and sediment. The study focused on the underlying assumption that the kinematic response of the water movement on the bottom variation is much stronger than the dynamic response. Application of the transport-field method (chapter 4) as suggested by De Vriend (1985) has been examined. The performed study is a next step towards a more efficient way of morphodynamic modelling and may contribute to a more thorough understanding of morphological models and processes in tidal regions.
