Faculty Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science Date 2011-12-31 Abstract We give two important generalizations of the Induced Dimension Reduction (IDR) approach for the solution of linear systems. We derive a flexible and a multi-shift Quasi-Minimal Residual IDR (QMRIDR) variant. Numerical examples are presented to show the effectiveness of these new IDR variants compared to existing ones and to other Krylov subspace methods Subject iterative methods, IDR, IDR(s), Krylov subspace methods, large sparse nonsymmetric linearsystems To reference this document use: http://resolver.tudelft.nl/uuid:7a8fdd66-1c41-4659-96d8-1c8c4e5257d6 Publisher Delft University of Technology, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science, Department of Applied Mathematical Analysis ISSN 1389-6520 Source Reports of the Department of Applied Mathematical Analysis, 11-06 Part of collection Institutional Repository Document type report Rights (c)2011 Van Gijzen, M.B., Sleijpen, G.L.G., Zemke, J.-P.
