(mentor) Hermans, W. (mentor) Faculty Architecture Department Architecture Programme Explorelab Date 2012-04-20 Abstract An analysis of the perception of cities and urban regions according to the principles of network urbanism. This becomes relevant when cities become so big they can no longer be understood by knowing their geographic features. Instead a diagrammatical, network based, perception is necessary. This results in the design for a transport hub on an arbitrary location where infrastructural elements converge in a node. The building seeks to not only facilitate the transfer function of the node, but also to encourage the area around it to develop into an attractive place to be.
