This study is contributing to the knowledge base about the perception of risk. Regarding the risk of storm-surges, an assessment of the perception and the status of personal preparedness of the people are addressed in an interview study in a coastal community on the North Sea. The results of this qualitative interview study are integrated with results of a previously conducted quantitative survey in the same community.
