In this thesis the physical process during the erosion of sand at high flow velocities is described. In this context erosion experiments with flow velocities of more than 2 m/s were executed. The experiments were done in the laboratory in the Delft University of Technology, faculty Mechanical, Maritime and Materials Engineering (3mE). With the new collected data the physical process during erosion of sand is analyzed.
