Recycling of road pavement materials in the Netherlands

This report deals with the Rijkswaterstaat's work on the recycling of road pavement materials in the Netherlands. We, the authors, were involved in some of this work, the rest of it - and some of the report - having been done by our colleagues and assistants. We also received help from the regional directorates of the Rijkswaterstaat and from the Dutch roadbuilding contractors who carried out the practical work. We therefore take this opportunity to thank all those who helped us with the investigations and field tests, as weil as with the drafting of this report. The laboratory investigations and the field tests were done in the period 1973-84. The Dutch developments are reported here in the context of similar work done in other countries. As far as possible, the developments achieved by other road authorities in the Netherlands are also included in th is account. The report reflects the state of affairs as at October 1983, as far as it is known to us.
