(mentor) de Boer, Wiebe (mentor) Degree granting institution Delft University of Technology Programme Civil Engineering Date 2019-11-28 Abstract Due to sea level rise and subsidence of land, coastal erosion is a serious problem in the Netherlands. And nourishments are common solutions to mitigate coastal erosion. Over the last decades, many studies have been focusing on individual nourishment performance to help us increase understanding of it. However, it is still not clear for us how the nourishments behave under different parameters (such as water depth of the nourishment crest, wave heights or nourishment size etc). This thesis tests the impact of different parameters on the erosion rate of the nourishments through measured data and numerical model simulations.
