(mentor) Faculty Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science Department Computer Graphics Programme Computer Graphics Date 2014-08-22 Abstract In this thesis, we present an interactive remote volume-rendering system. Our system tries to bridge the gap between complex medical volume data and the patient. The user can easily upload their own data, which they receive from the clinician after a scan, which they can then visualize. Our application does not require any medical or volume visualization background, and can run from any device with a working internet connection and an internet browser. We also introduce a technique to use multiple machines in order to combine the computing power into one very fast renderer and the other way around: multiple concurrent users on one machine by distributing the workload efficiently.
