Contributor Van de Kuilen, J.W.G. (mentor) Ravenshorst, G.J.P. (mentor) Bierbooms, W.A.A.M. (mentor) De Vries, P.A. (mentor) Faculty Civil Engineering and Geosciences Department Structural and Building Engineering Programme Steel and Timber Structures Date 2015-04-20 Abstract Inspired by the world's first timber tower for a multi-megawatt turbine, an investigation has been carried whether or not this design would be suited for Dutch wind conditions as well. Demands from design codes have been summarized and the frequency behaviour of these timber towers has been studied. Apart from the original softwood Cross Laminated Timber, the use of Laminated Veneer Lumber has also been investigated.
