The water-energy-food nexus is a relatively novelconcept that takes an integrated approach to resource security and sustainabil-ity. This paper applies systems theory and transition management theory toa water-energy-food nexus approach in Bonaire and proposes three pathwaysto reach an integrated sustainable transition in Bonaire's water, energy andfood systems. It shows that this approach can provide valuable insights for theintegrated governance of the water, energy and food systems.
