Pruyt, E. Faculty Technology, Policy and Management Department Multi Actor Systems Date 2013-07-25 Abstract This paper addresses the pervasive problem of sexual harassment and domestic violence against women and children. Following a brief introduction to the scope and consequences of sexual harassment in different regions, this article focuses on the current situation in Egypt. To gain insight on the effects of the different policies proposed in the Egyptian context, a System Dynamics model is used. First, a policy analysis is performed on the ‘quick and dirty’ simulation model and then the preliminary results are tested under uncertainty. The main conclusion is that reduction on the side of the offender is of significant importance, but comparatively time consuming and therefore not sufficient.
