 Abstract

Method for detecting a similarity in shape between a first and a second sampled signal fragment. The method comprises the steps of: formation of a first fragment function from the first sampled signal fragment by means of inverse interpolation, definition of a domain interval, for example the time interval, by searching for the second sampled signal fragment of which an inverse interpolated second fragment function corresponds to the first fragment function. The method is used, for example, in the time domain (definition of time intervals in, for example GPS signals), the space domain (for example, in video signals), the frequency domain (for example, speech analysis, narrowband interference suppression, tuning/tuning), the correlation domain (for example multipath suppression in GPS and CDMA receivers), etc.
