First, a literature review was conducted to gather knowledge for the foundation of this research. With the information, a scenario matrix was constructed to distinguish four future development paths for access/egress transport. Subsequently, a footprint indicator was developed to determine the required land use for access/egress facilities. Data on the expected modal split in each of the four scenarios was gathered through a mode choice experiment. These values were subsequently used in combination with the footprint indicator for the spatial assessment of railway station areas.
