Contributor Huesman, A.E.M. (mentor) Bardow, A. (mentor) Faculty Mechanical, Maritime and Materials Engineering Department Process and Energy Programme IRS Date 2010-04-21 Abstract FricDiff is short for frictional differences and it describes a gas or vapour separating process which has the potential to reduce both energy requirements as well as capital investments. To develop a firm basis for future applications, the dynamics prediction and the control of the process were still missing from the research. Therefore the development of a dynamic model is done in part A, while part B discusses how to control the process, resulting in a standard control scheme; such a scheme shows how to control a particular unit operation.
