(mentor) van den Bos, W. (mentor) Degree granting institution Delft University of Technology Programme Marine Technology | Transport Engineering and Logistics Date 2019-08-01 Abstract The share of container transhipment within the Port of Rotterdam increases over the years. A new concept for a transportation vehicle will extend the use of autonomous vehicles for the transhipment between different terminals. In order to avoid the high traffic density highway A15, this new vehicle will make use of amphibious capabilities in order to exchange between road and inland waterway networks. Eight technically viable designs are established which are evaluated on their operational application by means of multi-criteria analyses. A more detailed design will present an example of how such a vehicle can be realised.
