(mentor) Faculty Civil Engineering and Geosciences Department Hydraulic Engineering Programme Coastal Engineering Project CoMEM (Coastal and Marine Engineering and Management) Date 2016-07-04 Abstract The Oesterdam tidal flat nourishment is a hook-shaped nourishment that was constructed in November 2013 in the Kom area of the Eastern Scheldt. One of the objectives of the nourishment is to increase the design life of the Oesterdam in the face of increasing wave loads due to structural erosion of the intertidal flats. A study is conducted in order to examine the available hydrodynamic and morphological data, validate an existing hydrodynamic model, and estimate projections of design wave loads.
