Title How can the Gradual Development of More Sustainable Energy Systems Be Integrated in Urban Planning in China? Author Wennersten, Ronald Sun, Q de Jong, W.M. (TU Delft Organisation & Governance) Date 2016 Abstract Great efforts have been made in China to reduce coal consumption over the last decade. However, the energy transition to more sustainable energy systems will be gradual and take a longer time than expected. This paper discusses how sustainable development of energy systems on the local level can be gradually achieved. A challenge will be to develop smaller scale projects on the local level where participatory planning processes with cross sectoral planning can be implemented. Another challenge is to bring transdisciplinary academic research closer to the practice Subject Sustainable DevelopmentSustainable Development; Sustainable Energy SystemsUrban Planning To reference this document use: http://resolver.tudelft.nl/uuid:df467c54-bab6-4f4a-867e-24f1212cb5c6 DOI https://doi.org/10.1016/j.egypro.2016.06.008 ISSN 1876-6102 Source Energy Procedia, 88, 23-30 Event Applied Energy Symposium and Summit 2015, 2015-11-15 → 2015-11-17, Fuzhou, China Part of collection Institutional Repository Document type journal article Rights © 2016 Ronald Wennersten, Q Sun, W.M. de Jong Files PDF 1_s2.0_S1876610216300728_main.pdf 427.13 KB Close viewer /islandora/object/uuid:df467c54-bab6-4f4a-867e-24f1212cb5c6/datastream/OBJ/view
