(mentor) Faculty Civil Engineering and Geosciences Department Transport & Planning Programme Operations & Management of Transport Systems Date 2016-02-01 Abstract The Superroute-app, part of the Praktijkproef Amsterdam (PPA) provides commuters with an elaborate and personalized route advice and travel time prediction in the Amsterdam area. On urban roads the travel time prediction from the ARS Traffic & Transport Technology route planner is used, which is based on free flow travel times. To improve the current urban travel time prediction I used historic floating car data (FCD) from the Superroute-app and infrastructural data from HERE maps as input for a linear regression model. With the regression model I have estimated the (difference) in travel time, in order to ‘correct’ the current travel time prediction.
